SKANDA "LEAP" and "FIRE"

A framework and methodology for Spirituality and Self-realisation

At Skanda Sanctuary, our programmes follow a unique learning framework designed to support the natural progression of the spiritual journey. Inspired by years of contemplative practice, the Skanda LEAP & FIRE Framework was developed by Sandeep Ganesh (SaGa) in 2025 as not only a framework for understanding spirituality, but also a methodology for the pursuit of self-realisation.

The framework explains that spirituality unfolds in two stages: (1) First by cultivating awareness, stability, and presence in everyday life, and then (2) by turning inward through deeper enquiry into the nature of the self. Every program is thoughtfully designed around this progression, allowing each stage to prepare you for the next.

"LEAP"
Building the Foundations

LEAP (Living with Ease, Awareness and Presence) forms the foundation of all Skanda programmes.

Through the four stages of Look, Engage, Acknowledge, and Penetrate, practitioners cultivate greater awareness of their actions, body, mind, and heart while integrating meaningful practices, precepts, and shifts in perception.

The aim is to establish grounding and stability before embarking on deeper spiritual enquiry. (Refer framework below)

"FIRE"
The Path of Self-Enquiry

Once the foundations are established, the journey naturally deepens into FIRE (Face, Inquire, Release, and Return)

This stage is centred on direct self-enquiry, inviting practitioners to examine the nature of identity, let go of limiting conditioning, and recognise what lies underneath our identities.

FIRE is not about becoming someone new, but about discovering what has always been present.
(Refer framework below)

"LEAP opens the journey to self-realisation and FIRE brings it to its close, but the space in between is yours to wander, explore, fall, lose, question, and ultimately discover the mystery in your own way."

- Sandeep Ganesh
